A business which is limited by its geometry or product portfolio or by generality product design or manufacturing cannot sustain in all weather conditions, states Vaidya.
“Therefore, creating a niche in your own area, expanding horizons to have multiple markets backed up by a committed supply chain is the only answer for volatility. The year 2016 was not an exception and hence there is no separate concern or strategy that was required to be designed or implemented. Pursuing good practices, redefining business process, creating internal benchmarks and exceeding them continuously, week after week, is the only solution. To do this, one must have a proper dash board that is being shared with all the contributors for them to know and improve upon it,” he adds.
Being part of a sector that is on the brink of a major boom in India, Godrej Aerospace is all the more keen to create a mark. “One of the solutions is to be globally competitive in the year 2017. Optimisation through value engineering of raw materials and process, better design concepts, a good emphasis on automation and industry 4.0 initiatives could bring in required sustained growth,” points out Vaidya.
