Rolls Royce Aerospace
It is a general observation in corporate consultancy circles that large companies command enormous resources that influence the world for better or worse and that their strategies shape the lives of the employees, partners, and consumers on whom they depend. And so it is with Jayaraman. As president for the India & South Asia region, his role is to set the strategy for the businesses and execute the same. He is also responsible for creating platforms so that businesses can operate, provide governance and controllership mechanisms for people to perform with the highest level of integrity thereby enabling business sustainability and long term growth.
Jayaraman says, “As a trusted partner to India, Rolls-Royce has supported the indigenisation of the Indian aerospace & defence manufacturing sector long before the Make in India initiative was launched, we began our association with HAL. It is one of the longest partnerships in defence aerospace history, and is now in its 60th year.” Currently, the global conglomerate is working towards the indigenisation of the Indian defence industry by exploring strong partnerships with companies who share its goals. Globally, Rolls-Royce powers more than 30 types of commercial aircraft and has almost 13,000 engines in service around the world. Going forward, Jayaraman is confident that the behemoth’s strong heritage and depth of relationships with the armed forces and industry will help it successfully transfer whole-engine capability and expertise in multi-national combat engine programmes.
