Bhingurde says the company’s focus is now mainly on robots and automation, and aerospace. Last year, TAL Manufacturing Solutions launched its industrial articulated robot named BRABO priced between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 10 lakh in the Indian market. With its vast experience in providing manufacturing solutions and competencies in mechatronics, TAL has developed articulated industrial robots in the range of 2-5-10kg payload and now offers cost effective automation solutions to the MSMEs in India. With its modular and optimum design, higher flexibility and significantly lower cost of ownership, the BRABO is revolutionising automation in India.

The company is eyeing the SAARC markets with its customisable indigenously developed robot. It expects the Brabo to boost the robotics vertical and contribute almost 40% of its overall revenues in the next five years. TAL currently draws around 70% of its revenues from the aerospace vertical where it is a supplier (tier-I and tier-II) to big names such as Boeing, Airbus and Rolls Royce.

The company has a production capacity of 10,000 robots per year. Even the controller has been developed locally, by its own team. The company has always stated that almost 95% of the components are indigenous. That means, that it will have low cost of maintenance. Spares will be totally available locally. It is easy to use, easy to programme controller.

TAL robots will cater to electronics, logistics, pharmaceuticals, food and packaging industries. The major are would be automotive — because world over, the trend is that 35% of the robotic applications are from the automotive sector.
