Power List 2020
At Panasonic, innovation is the cornerstone for creating newer business solutions. The India Innovation Centre (IIC) established in 2017 is a strategic business initiative for Panasonic India to drive innovation and create new business opportunities whilst leveraging future technologies.
It makes use of these future technologies such as IoT, cloud, mobile, analytics, etc., to co-create business ideas bases on consumer insights, market research & industry trends to develop them into innovative solutions that can be used across domestic and global markets. Within Panasonic India, IIC serves as the horizontal platform that helps existing businesses innovate across verticals.
Connectivity, education, healthcare, smart factory manufacturing – Industrial IoT 4.0 (to increase operational efficiencies) and connected homes/lifestyle updates are the areas where IIC is innovating. In this line, it has already developed solutions catering to rural healthcare – JanAid, tracking/anti-theft device – Seekit and advertising solution digital signage and cloud based video conferencing solution HDVC WAVE. Innovation at IIC is a two-phased process. First step is conceptualisation followed by execution. Conceptualisation involves understanding consumer behaviour & their needs, analysing market trends and R&D. This is followed by the process of ideation, business planning and product development. In order to test the proof of concept, it takes agile steps towards recurring development methodology.
Aligned to its vision, A Better Life, A Better World, all its innovative solutions have been designed to pursue a higher quality of living and sustainable society through rigorous technological innovations.
