The industry is looking at vehicles with zero emissions. So it is not just about greener manufacturing practices – it is creating the vehicle of future that will keep the environment clean.

The factory of future is driven by five pillars of TQM – management commitment, customer focus, quality cost, quality systems and continuous improvement which rests on employee involvement, daily management and Kaizen. The team focuses on digital manufacturing, Industry 4.0, lean systems thinking. Sustainability percolates across suppliers, manufacturing to dealer and finally customer embedding. Towards increasing the share of renewable energy over the years, TVS Motor Company has invested in group captive mode to the tune of 35MW wind power. Also, roof top solar power of 5.0MW, solar water heating of 400KW and solar air heating of 46KW were implemented. With this Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), the renewable power contributes to 60% in overall share of power. These initiatives of renewable energy resulted in CO2 emissions reduction of about 50,000 tons during 2018-19.
