Tyrolit India
Tyrolit India launched some interesting solutions that support Industry 4.0. The company also added two new areas of business, one of them being medical. Tyrolit’s main area of business are industry areas that require high quality solutions, accuracies matter much, and better surface finishing is required.
Another product it had on offer is for the gear industry where the surface finish requirements are below 0.2 microns and basically brings down the noise levels. “It is important for a customer to have ease of mounting and demounting of the grinding wheels. Normally the grinding wheels are heavy when the diameters are going up,” said Kumar.
The company had displayed one of the wheels that it calls polaris light weight. “It’s light weight and has a steel core that is really heavy. We removed a lot of material from the steel core so that the overall weight of the steel reduces. That way we managed to reduce up to 50% of the original weight. Ways to remove the material from the core is decided through FEM analyses so it should not have any drawbacks when it comes to the functioning of the wheel,” he adds.
Much technology has gone into reducing the weight of the wheel. Ultimately, it reduces difficulties for the customer using the wheels while increasing the life of the machine tool. “Weight reduction has a positive impact on the machine spindle. There is less load on the spindle thus increasing its life span and reduces their maintenance cost in the long run,” he adds.
By this, Kumar says they have been working towards meeting customer expectations.
