MOTULTech is participating for the fourth consecutive year in IMTEX. The exhibition matters much to the company as it helps promote products in a mass environment. Over the years, it has offered visibility to the Indian arm, as Vergnes says that it offers an avenue to sales. “Our customers in India know who we are because of our presence at IMTEX and much communication has been exchanged with customers over the last few years,” he adds.
Bringing new products is always a challenge if you do not follow the market trends. “In fact there are emerging trends in the metal working industry and the main trend is to search for performance because our customers expect to manufacture more parts with the same tool. Metal working tool is expensive. If you can help prolong even 10% of the life of these tools by using the right lubricant, customers can save money by spending a little more on the lubricant. The best way to introduce a new lubricant is to demonstrate to our customers so that they can make more parts with the same tools, which will increase their productivity,” adds Vergnes.
Kumar said that 2018 was a positive year and the company grew across all segments. “I have a positive oulook for 2019. Lubricants, especially for metal working, in India is a different market as compared to the US or Europe. We need to customise the lubricants for the Indian market, considering the water conditions, climate or machining conditions. We do a parallel R&D for Europe as well as the Indian market and are able to offer a specialised solution to customers,” he adds.
