Tectyl Oil & Chemicals (India)
Explaining how Tectyl Oil & Chemicals (INdia) is mainly into specialty formulations with a strong focus on metal cutting for the metal working industry, Ravindran says that the company is presenting its strength in R&D and its ability to offer customised fluid solutions. Globally, the company has a reputation to provide entire product solutions for the concept of total fluid solutions, while in India the company has earned a name with metal cutting in india.
The company is also launching sensitive quenching fluids, which will be used for heat treatment in Indian metal cutting. The new fluid has been fine tuned by the Korean team who understand the needs of the Indian market and have looked at new products based on feedback they receive from customers.
The new quenching fluid is being manufactured at Tectyl’s Indian plant in chennai. Ravindran is hopeful that this year IMTEX should see more footfalls considering that the automotive segment was a little low last year and are now gearing up to take up new products and solutions, which only a trade fair of this size can offer them.
Formulations in lubricants and oils are affected by atmospheric conditions and Tectyl ensures that it rings thr right product into the country.
With GST launched last year, it is bound to streamline the industry to a certain extent and companies like Tectyl will have to focus on brand recognition, while trying to reach out to a larger market base and increase the number of customers across industry sectors.
Speaking about the unorganised market in India, Ravindran says that Tectyl deals with such a problem in two ways: One is having relevant channel partners in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. “We find that more unorganised number of players are largely in Tier 3 cities, but our channel partners seem to be doing a good job. The market is more organised in Tier 2 cities.”
In fact, Tectyl trains its channel partners to deal with the unorganised sector. Considering that Tier 2 markets are more organised, Tectyl either sells directly to these markets or sells through channel partners.
