With focus on premium metel working fluids, company is planning to introduce few more semi-synthetic and synthetic products, strengthening our present product line. Along with its inter-operational machine cleaners, NDT products, industrial oils from BASF, the company is using IMTEX as a platform to showcase these tecnologies.

The company’s focus when it considers the metalworking fluids is on improving tool life, helping customers become more efficient, and ensure that environment-friendliness is adhered to.

Talking about new products, Anand says that the company is trying to combine the expertise it already has with regards to the paint and machine shop with the chemistry of BASF from its in-house R&D.

Anand says that a lot of conventional lubricants  continue to be used in India. However, the market is evolving at a fast pace, and there is a remarkable increase in precision tool manufacturing and that is helping manufacturers scout for metalworking fluids that match the requirements of the tools. “This is leading to a need for value-added products and that’s where I see a big opportunity for Chemetall. Simultaneously, there is also a combined trend to increase indigenisation of products. What was earlier being importing a few years before is now being made locally. With increasing environmental concerns, there is also a need for better products and I see that as a positive trend for the business and for the metalworking fluids as an industry. Customers are increasingly questioning the efficiency of the products and looking for better performance with all the benefits of eco-friendliness,” adds Anand.
In terms of R&D, Anand says that Indian companies as well as overseas ones are committed to in-depth R&D.
