Bajaj Auto
Bajaj Auto intends to be one of the world’s leading motorcycle manufacturers, while maintaining its industry leading profitability in its brand categories. The company claims to be India’s No. 1 exporter in terms of the share of total production that is being sold abroad, and has increased its global footprint from 44 countries in FY 2012 to 77 countries in FY 2016.
Bajaj Auto’s Chakan plant was started in the year 1998 and manufactures high performance bikes in the Pulsar, Avenger & KTM family under the sports & premium sports segment, with 22 models & 122 variants. They have achieved more than a decade of market leadership in the Pulsar/Avenger brands.
Their products are also exported to various developed countries like USA, Europe, Japan, Australia, etc. This has been possible due to Bajaj Auto’s Flexible Production System, which is based on a level-wise flexibility approach for Man, Machine, Material and Method. To beat global competition, they have strengthened in-built quality initiatives under product design, manufacturing and usage.
With this background, Bajaj Chakan launched a new brand, Dominar, in December 2016, in an effort to dominate the market in the premium sports segment. With new features, this is the most powerful and highest CC bike in the history of Bajaj.
“We aim at continuous improvement in Output per Man through ECRS & Automations. Also, Variable Conversion Cost reduction through Cost Loss elimination, Operation Control & Technological Improvements is done,” says Pise.
