TVS Motor Company’s learning wing – Institute of Quality Management [IQL] also rolled out courses in partnership with reputed online-learning partners to help employees upskill themselves and broaden their horizon in their relevant fields. 

Ahead of resuming operations, it created a compulsory online module charting hazard warning and personal protection guidelines for employees.  At the factory, it has deployed end-to-end manuals and protocol along with innovations to help minimise common touch points.  It set up seven sub-committees for social distance management, sanitizing, transport, face mask management, temperature monitoring, employee assurance and training & awareness.

It has hand-held the diverse workforce to adapt to WFH and the ‘new normal’ since 2020. To make this transition easy, the company used virtual collaborative platforms, emails and instant messaging and today, it’s working in a ‘hybrid’ pattern of roster system with select days for office and rest for work from home.

It believes in innovating ahead of the curve to stay relevant to our customers and bring best-in-class products to the market. There is a definite shift to digital in the auto sector and our focus is to prepare the workforce for this evolution. Continuous improvement, i.e. Kaizen is instrumental in achieving long-term success by having each member, focus on improving quality and, thus, delivering customer satisfaction. It is enabling employees to build requisite skillsets for their field through Virtual Learning Programs.

Today, manufacturers must be agile to drive a frictionless online experience for consumers. This can be done through Big Data and AI for trend analysis. Augmented and Virtual Reality can be implemented to create a premise where customers can experience the product from home. It recently introduced Augmented Reality Interactive Vehicle Experience (A.R.I.V.E) app which allows customers an in-depth product exploration and purchase experience using AR technology, from the convenience of their homes.
