Vitesco did not face any major slowdown on the development of technology front, however, the pandemic did impact some of the timelines.
The company has taken a call to push back its spin-off plan. It has plans to strengthen future independence. Consequently, once the market conditions get better, the spin-off can be implemented with the shortest possible lead-in time and high flexibility.
Initially there were a few slow months in the beginning of the pandemic, the automotive sector has quickly picked up and ramped up sales, especially in the 2- wheeler market. Pre-pandemic it was focused on the launch of BS-VI. Now that it has been launched successfully and taking good shape in the Indian market, the focus will be towards RDE and CAFE II norms.
It’s also looking at electrification and working towards creating sustainable options for our customers. It has always believed in digital technologies. Post unlock, it has implemented technologies wherever possible with minimum intervention. Globally, it has implemented Industry 4.0 practices like AI in product development and process automation, AR for remote assistance and problem-solving, AGVs for material movement, AI at many levels for early detection of quality issues.
