We are concerned that due to the insistence of some multilateral & bilateral funding agencies, some metro operators will be forced to agree to terms & conditions which are contradictory to Make in India. Rail manufacturers like us who have invested in India on manufacturing sites, proven technologies, local engineering, skilled talent & creation of local supplier base, are at a disadvantage due to certain clauses which don’t promote local content and manufacturing. Additionally, local rail manufacturers have no direct incentive over companies importing rolling stock.
