Continental is the leading suppliers in terms of customer focus, quality & market share in the long term, and we aim to grow even stronger. Any large-scale innovation should definitely, apart from resolving market needs, contribute towards the aim. We also keep in mind aspects of Safe Mobility & Intelligent Mobility while implementing large-scale innovation. Also, staying relevant is important. Bringing futureready safety technologies have always been our priority. For instance, in addition to safety technologies – ABS & airbags, we also offer technologies in the braking system, i.e., Electronic Stability Control & Autonomous Emergency Brakes. It is also a prerequisite for further safety technologies like Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Another example would be Integrated Interior Platform. It combines various displays, like glass surfaces with a headup display & central console cross-domain units, which shows all the actions & functions that driver & vehicle can perform.

Localisation is an important factor for us. We are is localising the entire value chain as per the local customers’ needs; we are localising sourcing for optimised cost. Another factor that works to our advantage is that we are deploying smart technologies. Our Bangalore plant was the first to initiate the implementation of Industry 4.0 practices. We have implemented Augmented Reality for remote assistance & problemsolving, AI for facial detection of quality inspectors, Automated Guided Vehicle for material movement on the shopfloor & Cobots to undertake repetitive tasks.
