Motherson Sumi Systems operates as an automotive component manufacturing company. Automotive is going to be a big focus but the company is also looking at medical, aerospace and defence which are synergistic to its automotive business. Motherson has always prided itself in growing faster than the market. “Whenever those kind of situations occur, we look at opportunities in the market, at where our customers are pushing us. At the end of the day, the customers definitely want to keep on growing and we want to grow with them,” says Sehgal. A lot of doors are opening in those kind of places. “There is still room for us to grow in the automotive sector but if we hit our automotive targets in early 2020, we will be a size where growth may not be possible because we would have a large share of the customers business already. The most important bit that we said was that the top line comes with the bottom line,” he adds.
