Renishaw exhibited its extensive range of metrology and additive manufacturing equipment at IMTEX 2017. The company put on show its RenAM 500M additive manufacturing system. The RenAM 500M is a laser powder bed fusion additive manufacturing system designed specifically for the production of metal components on the factory floor. It features automated powder and waste handling systems that enable consistent process quality, reduce operator touch times and ensure high standards of system safety. The system build volume is 250mm × 250mm × 350mm. Full designed and engineered in-house to be used for serialised production, the RenAM 500M builds complex metal components directly from CAD using metal powder fusion technology.
The company also demonstrated its MODUS 2, which is based on the established and highly capable MODUS platform. it offers optimal support for Renishaw’s suite of 3- and 5-axis CMM sensor technologies.
The company also demonstrated the ability to monitor key process inputs, analyse data and continuously improve manufacturing processes, facilittate increased productivity and higher accuracy.
Besides this, it had on display the game-changing SPRINT system which brings exceptional, high-epeed, high-accuracy scanning to CNC machine tools. It records a constant stream of accurate 3D points across the port surface, and analyses the data in real time on the CNC machine tool controller, to provide opportunities for automated in-process control on high-value CNC machines.
