Walter joins hands with Starrag and Renishaw to showcase innovations in component machining.

From complex shapes to exotic materials, Walter offers solutions that address the challenges of machining key components in various industry segments. Walter’s motto is simple: Develop existing technologies and make new concepts readily available, as a complete machining solution package, to the end users of their high performance products. With this as the prime motivation, Walter Tools India, along with Starrag India and Renishaw, organised a joint seminar on advanced machining solutions for the automotive and engineering sector.
The event took place on July 10 and welcomed more than 40 visitors from 18 different customers from the automotive and engineering fraternity. Attendees included automobile manufacturers, research and development experts, and members of the engineering industry. Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts, Wave Mechanics, Wipro, HAL and Bosch were some of the players represented.
The seminar started with an inaugural speech by Starrag India’s managing director, AN Chandramouli, followed by a presentation on its newly launched HMC’s – IWK 7000 & IWK 5000 by Raju and Jagadish from Starrag. Naresh B, general manager, sales (south), along with Srikanth G, business development manager from Walter Tools, presented the Walter Engineering Kompetenz through the advanced machining innovations in the automotive, aerospace & engineering sector. Sanjay Sangam, national sales manager, Renishaw, gave a brief introduction about their new products.
The seminar focused on examples of current solutions in use today. Visitors had the opportunity to watch real components being manufactured and hold the finished machined work pieces in their hands. Starrag and Walter have been working extremely closely for many years now. The two companies collaborate to develop machining technologies for turbine engineering.
