Altair technology conference highlights keys trends in CAE.
Â
The 2015 India Altair Technology Conference was held in Bengaluru, and followed by the 2015 ATCx Design/Simulation in New Delhi. Both conferences offered opportunities for CAE/CFD leaders and experts in the industries to exchange views and network with each other.
The Bengaluru event was the 11th edition of the Altair Technology Conference Series and formed a part of Altair’s global conference series, with similar events being conducted in North America, Asia and Europe. In India, partnering with Cradle, nCode, Click2Cast, Moldex 3D and Texas Instruments, the conference showcased customer success using Altair solutions. The HyperWorks track along with four other parallel conferences on FEKO (electromagnetic simulation), PBS works (HPC/cloud computing), VisSim (model based development) and solidThinking(simulation driven design) provided a great opportunity for participants to learn, exchange ideas and network with CAE/CFD leaders and industry experts.
Over 1,100 CAE engineering professionals from all over India attended the conference, and got an opportunity to listen to expert industry speaker sessions and technical paper presentations. The conference received an overwhelming response, with over 135 technical paper submissions.
A major highlight was the panel discussion on The Next Gen Transportation Ideas for Emerging Markets. There was another panel discussion on The Next Gen Transportation Design: Future of Indian Mobility, which focused on the future transportation design demands to meet the challenges posed by changing customer aspirations and preferences, safety and regulatory requirements, adoption of new technologies, expansion/pressure on infrastructure, emerging transportation models, clean tech/environmental impact and other such transitions. The sessions brought to the fore powerful, creative thinking related to the Indian transportation needs.
About 10 exhibitor booths were visited by over 800 conference delegates. In addition, four parallel conferences were held on ATC – Cloud, ATC – Model Based Development, ATC – Design and ATC – Electromagnetic Simulation.
From over 135 papers received, the best paper presentations in each of the 12 papers categories were evaluated. Over 24 prizes were awarded in different design/simulation categories. Some of the prominent winners covered power users from organisations like Samsung Electronics India, General Motors India, Mahindra & Mahindra, GE Aviation, Maruti Suzuki, Ashok Leyland, Bajaj Auto, Faurecia Interior Systems India, Whirlpool, Gabriel India, HUSSMAN, VE Commercial Vehicles, Mando Softech, Visteon Engineering, Ather Energy, Electropnuematics and Hydraulics, Tata Technologies, BHEL, Hyundai Mobis India, L&T Tech. and CYIENT.
The Delhi Altair Technology Conference was held in partnership with Moldex and Texas Instruments. Similar to the Bengaluru event, it showcased customer success using Altair solutions. It also included conferences, on the same topics, which were attended by 350 CAE engineering professionals from Delhi-NCR.
A panel discussion, on The Next Gen Transportation Ideas for Emerging Markets, including panelists such as Kamal Bali, MD, Volvo India; Pankaj Dubey, country head & MD, Polaris India; CV Raman, executive director, engineering, Maruti Suzuki India; Gerrit Van Den Oever, VP & head, AVL India; and James Scapa, founder & CEO, Altair.
