Welspun Corp announces the commissioning of a Blast furnace in Gujarat

The Blast Furnace has the capacity to produce approximately 500,000 MT of Hot Metal per annum, which will be largely utilised to manufacture Pig Iron and Ductile Iron (DI) Pipes.

Welspun Corp Ltd (WCL) has announced the commissioning of its state-of-the-art Blast Furnace, Sinter plant, and TMT Bars manufacturing facility at Anjar, Gujarat, through its wholly-owned subsidiaries.

The Blast Furnace has the capacity to produce approximately 500,000 MT of Hot Metal per annum, which will be largely utilised to manufacture Pig Iron and Ductile Iron (DI) Pipes. The facility recently received BIS certification and has also commenced the trial production of Ductile Iron pipes. This facility will include Blast Furnace, Sinter Plant, PCI and Oxygen Plant Coke Oven.

The other facility which has been commissioned by Welspun Corp is the TMT bar manufacturing facility which has a capacity of 350,000 MT per annum. The company will be using inputs from their existing manufacturing set-up of BIS Certified Steel Billets and Direct Reduced Iron to manufacture TMT bars.
