VDMA recently organised the Indo-German Business Forum along with three knowledge partners ASA & Associates LLP, BDB India and Euro Asia Consulting. This was held in three different cities of Pune, Bengaluru and Chennai. The forum discussed various aspects of India including manufacturing being the future growth engine. “The new government has initiated the National Manufacturing Policy with a target to achieve 25% share of GDP and creating 100 million additional jobs in the sector by 2025. The Indian government will have to develop specific actions to rejuvenate the manufacturing sector and grow at 14% CAGR for next 10 years to achieve the target,” averred Rajesh Nath, MD, India Operations, VDMA. Dignitaries at the event also spoke on direct and indirect tax budget proposal, product strategy, introduction of GST, etc.
