Valeo has been awarded by General Motors as Supplier of the Year in the category of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Valeo has extensive technological and industrial expertise in ADAS, enabling it to produce very efficient solutions at optimal cost. The company has sold more than 1.5 billion ADAS sensors over the past 30 years and plans to sell more than 3 billion sensors over the next 5 years.

Vehicles are offering more ADAS functionality to ensure the safety of passengers and to gradually pave the way for autonomous driving. ADAS technology ranges from automatic emergency braking in the event of danger, to monitoring driver alertness, maintaining the vehicle in the correct lane, adapting speed automatically and adjusting lighting.

This award is an exceptional milestone in Valeo’s long-standing relationship with GM and the company is honoured to be recognised, informs Jeffrey Shay, President, Valeo North America. He also adds that the acceleration of ADAS technology is a core focus for Valeo.
