Uno Minda Ltd.’s joint venture company, Tokai Rika Minda India Private Limited (TRMN), held a groundbreaking ceremony at Neemrana in the Alwar district of Rajasthan to establish a manufacturing facility. The event was attended by N K Minda, CMD, Uno Minda Ltd., Hiroyoshi Ninoyu, President, Tokai Rika Co. Ltd., and other dignitaries from the government of Rajasthan, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and the auto component industry.
TRMN is a collaboration between Uno Minda Limited, a renowned global manufacturer of exclusive automotive solutions and systems for OEMs, and Tokai Rika, a leading manufacturer of control systems, safety and security devices in North America, Asia, and Europe. The joint venture currently produces automation manual transmission level, electric steering wheel locks, sensors, and circuit boards.
The new facility, which will cover an area of 20 acres, will require a capital expenditure of ₹200 crores and will expand the production of the smart systems and seat belt segment. Uno Minda plans to support the Ministry for Road Transport and Highways’ safety initiatives with this facility. This will be the second TRMN plant in the country and will manufacture cutting-edge technologies within India, thus contributing to the Aatmanirbhar initiative.
