TUV SUD, the German testing, inspection, training and certification giant, has been accredited by Quality Council of India under the third-party RMC (Ready Mixed Concrete) Plant Certification Scheme to assure quality in operations and processes of RMC plants in the country. The RMC Plant Certification Scheme is an initiative established by Quality Council of India, one of the quality facilitation body of India in association with Ready Mixed Concrete Manufacturers’ Association (RMCMA), Building Materials & Technology Promotion Council (BMTPC) under Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation, Government of India and various other stakeholders.
TUV SUD, with its global expertise and experience will assess the production control criteria for RMC Certification, under RMC Certification Scheme. It will award two kinds of certifications one being ‘RMC Capability Certification’ and other being ‘RMC 9000+ Capability Certification’, the latter ensures compliance to the requirements of ISO 9001 also in addition to the QCI Scheme requirements. Apart from certification, TUV SUD will assess plant and equipment, concrete mix design, control on quality of concrete ingredients, control and maintenance of process, production and testing facilities and adequate emphasis on competence of key personnel manning the process. Thus, ensuring an outcome of validated and certified processes.

The scheme was established by Quality Council of India in 2013 basis request from Ready Mixed Concrete Manufacturer’ Association (RMCMA), with an objective of institutionalizing neutral verification system to ensure quality in ready mixed concrete manufacturing. The scheme is a robust mechanism to ensure manufacturers comply with the best processes in the plant as outlined by BMTPC.
