Tevva’s hydrogen-electric truck completed a 350-mile wintry return journey without stopping to recharge, thanks to its fuel cell technology. Temperatures dipped to minus 10 degrees Celsius on the trip, providing an opportunity for Tevva’s engineers to gather important data about vehicle performance.
Dr Andrew Hagan, Element 2’s chief development officer, said the refuelling demonstrated the “superior range” of the vehicle, which offers reassurance to organisations updating their fleets. Tevva’s hydrogen fuel-cell range extension technology offers a cost-effective and eco-friendly alternative to diesel. The company is also working with hydrogen and refuelling station suppliers to develop low-carbon hydrogen services for customers, and to accelerate the drive to zero-emissions freight and urban logistics.
