The company ensures that its medical devices are crafted from environmentally sustainable materials while implementing manufacturing processes that minimises energy and water consumption. Additionally, Axio Biosolutions carefully selects recyclable packaging materials to reduce the overall environmental impact of its products.
Over the past year, Axio Biosolutions has procured more than 149,000 units of Secondary Folding Box Board (FBB) while reducing plastic usage by approximately 1,900 kg. The company has procured approximately 7,525 kg of recycled paper board (corrugated boxes), saving nearly 128 trees per year.
Saurabh Rawat, Assistant General Manager at Axio Biosolutions stated that by putting DfE principles into practice, Axio Biosolutions have reduced its carbon footprint and minimised the environmental impact of its products. Substantial efforts have been made to ensure that its products are easily recyclable and disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner, he added.
One innovative strategy adopted by Axio Biosolutions is the utilisation of chitosan, a biomaterial derived from crustacean shells, to address waste management challenges. By recycling waste that would otherwise harm the environment, the company minimises its environmental impact and contributes to the development of a circular economy.
The brand actively collaborates with local suppliers in order to reduce transportation emissions and support the local economy. The company also supports employee sustainability by providing business transport for over 60% of its workforce, thereby reducing the number of cars on the road and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. The company also encourages alternative forms of transportation such as public transit and carpooling to further reduce carbon footprint.
