Porter forays into the UAE market

The company is planning to make an investment of $6 million in UAE for the next 3 years.

Porter, a tech-based, on-demand logistics company, is expanding its reach to international markets. The company has announced its expansion overseas with entry to UAE offering its intra-city logistics services in Dubai. The company will provide a tech-enabled platform to ensure hassle-free deliveries through its LCVs and 2-wheelers. This will address the gap in intracity logistics requirements in the region for small package delivery requirements of both personal and businesses.

The company is planning to make an investment of $6 million in UAE for the next 3 years. It is also looking to cushion its operations in various other cities thereby, increasing the customer acquisition and vehicle base.

Pranav Goel, CEO & Co-Founder, Porter outlined that the company is thrilled to enter UAE as its first overseas market. The region has various business-friendly policies and infrastructure further helping the company scale its business exponentially in the market. The expansion is expected to act as a catalyst in ensuring the holistic growth of the intra-city logistics ecosystem. It will contribute to generating employment opportunities for driver-partners and offering economical and efficient solutions backed by technology to the customers.

According to Ankit Dwivedi, AVP – International Business, Porter, the company’s model helps in bringing efficiency into the system by addressing issues such as lower utilisation of vehicles, unavailability of the right vehicle type and high cost for customers. He further added that the expansion should help provide a logistics solution for businesses as well as offer consumers direct control over their deliveries.

The solutions offered by Porter help in improving lower vehicle utilisation, increasing the competence of the system and ensuring the availability of appropriate vehicles for customer requirements. This further makes the intracity logistics efficient with lesser rates for customers and more earnings for driver-partners. The company is aligned to tap more potential opportunities in the intra-city logistics segment in the future.
