Mahindra’s Origins welcomes OMRON Healthcare to set up operations in Chennai

The upcoming OMRON Healthcare factory will be constructed over an expansive 6.02-acre area.

Mahindra Industrial Park Chennai Limited (MIPCL), a joint venture between Mahindra World City Developers Limited and Sumitomo Corporation of Japan, has announced that OMRON Healthcare will be launching its operations in March 2025. The company will manufacture blood pressure monitors in India, at Origins by Mahindra, located in Chennai.

Rajaram Pai, Chief Business Officer – Industrial, Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership. He stated that this was a testament to the compelling value proposition that the company’s industrial cluster offers as a preferred manufacturing destination. Ready plug-and-play infrastructure enabling businesses to scale and go to market faster is provided at Origins. Moreover, the company is committed to fostering efficient, sustainable ecosystems that create employment opportunities and attract significant investments for making-in-India, he added.

The upcoming OMRON Healthcare factory will be constructed over an expansive 6.02-acre area and will primarily focus on manufacturing blood pressure monitors for the domestic market.

Origins by Mahindra, Chennai, is an industrial cluster situated along the NH16 Chennai – Bangalore Industrial Corridor near Ponneri in North Chennai. Currently, it is home to over nine global companies, including Mitsubishi Electric, Yanmar, NISSEI, USUI, TJR, Autogrip, Masano, Track design, and Ashirvad Pipes, operating in the first phase of the project, spanning 307 acres.

Strategically located on the Golden Quadrilateral, Origins Chennai boasts excellent accessibility and connectivity.
