Mahindra Logistics takes off with first international venture

Expands cross-border logistics business with launch of cargo charter operations in Dubai.

Mahindra Logistics Ltd (MLL), a part of India’s Mahindra Group, has launched its cargo charter operations in Dubai, serving customers in electronics, consumer durables, pharma, and engineering industries. The company will offer dedicated aircraft, enhanced transit time, and end-to-end solutions, complementing its existing freight forwarding services. As a neutral player in the global air cargo charter business, MLL aims to provide integrated solutions, technology interface, and market expertise to its customers.

Mahindra Logistics’ Managing Director and CEO, Rampraveen Swaminathan, announced the launch of the company’s cargo charter operations in Dubai, UAE. This marks the first international venture for Mahindra Logistics and is in line with the company’s vision of enhancing its services. Swaminathan stated that cross-border supply chain services have become critical to supply chain resilience due to increasing complexity in global supply chains. The cargo charter operations expand Mahindra Logistics’ cross-border logistics business and complement its current freight forwarding business, providing customers with enhanced service options. Dubai and the UAE are seen as a great launchpad for developing the business.

Saurav Chakraborty, Head, Global Cross Border Solutions, Mahindra Logistics Limited, explained that Dubai was selected as the location for the company’s air charter brokering business due to the unmatched access and connectivity it offers. The charter business will operate as an independent division, serving customers and partners across various verticals and geographies. Chakraborty anticipates that the charter business will greatly enhance Mahindra Logistics’ integrated solutions portfolio, in line with the company’s long-term business objectives.
