Larsen & Toubro’s Heavy Engineering division has successfully flagged off five reactors for PEMEX’s Miguel Hidalgo (Tula) refinery in Mexico. These crucial equipment units will be delivered to Pemex Transformación Industrial (PTRI), a subsidiary of Mexico’s state-owned oil company, PEMEX (Petróleos Mexicanos).

The reactors will play a key role in the desulfurisation of fuel at the Tula refinery, contributing to the production of cleaner gasoline and other refined products. This project marks a significant achievement for L&T Heavy Engineering, as it represents the fourth consecutive order received by L&T for a Mexican refinery.

Mr. Anil V. Parab, Whole-Time Director & Sr. Executive Vice President of Heavy Engineering & L&T Valves at Larsen & Toubro, expressed gratitude towards PEMEX for their continued trust in L&T’s capabilities. He stated that such back-to-back orders are a testimony to the company’s unique ability in handling this complex equipment, an endorsement of the customer’s confidence in the company’s delivery performance.

He further emphasised on L&T’s commitment to providing high-quality products and highlighted the company’s focus on high-end offerings, in-house development of manufacturing technologies, and digitalisation initiatives, positioning L&T as a reliable partner in the energy sector.

A representative from Pemex Transformación Industrial (PTRI) commended L&T’s open, trustful, and result-oriented approach to manufacturing the reactors. The representative said that these reactors are critical equipment for the refinery project in Mexico, and the high levels of quality, workmanship, and safety demonstrated by Team L&T is commendable.

The supplied reactors from L&T will contribute to the Tula refinery’s fuel production, helping meet the growing demand for gasoline and diesel in Mexico. This order aligns with PEMEX’s efforts to increase domestic production and reduce reliance on imports, with L&T being a valuable partner in their journey to modernise and upgrade refineries.
