Lakshmi Machine Works (LMW)

Lakshmi Machine Works was one of the exhibitors at IMTEX 2015 to display its innovative products and solutions. IN Bhattacharya, GM, marketing & sales, said that the company expects to grow by about 30% over last financial year in spite of downtrend in some of the sectors like the auto industry. “The demand from sectors like pumps and valves, oil and gas, defence and general engineering industry has gone up. The demand for sourcing machined components from India at the global level is on the rise and the need for good quality machining centres has increased substantially,” he said.

LMW has added a host of world-class vertical and horizontal machining centres to its range. The company expects to double its turnover in the next two years with a focus on quality machines and cost effective solutions. “In the first five years we had 14 machines and now we have 64 varieties of machines on display. It’s all supported by application engineering for various industry sectors. We have been working on tools, dyes and software that is involved along with other value additions,” he explained.

He revealed the new launches, which are two models of machine centres, “They are of different sizes and power. We have smaller vertical lid, larger one was 450 table size and now we have come with 300 chuck size machines. We also displayed machines with automation that are also within our group company. We have now developed these automations in house and started supplying to customers. These were earlier procured from outside, but today we have it integrated within our company. We have come out with subspindle machine, that is, two spindles in a machine where you can finish the component in one set up. Our turn mill within y-axis will cater to aerospace and defence,” he elucidated.

The company has also come out with its star machine, a 630 pallet size HMC. “We have launched one more HMC in the size of 400. We have our regular model HMC converted into a bigger tool. Defence is a major client,” he said. “You need the right price, right products and right marketing team for successful business. We have 1,200 machines that we sell and that takes up about 16-17% of the market share. Good products and innovative solutions generate business for us. We are working on our exporting strategy.”
