Dassault Systèmes has announced that the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) has selected its 3DEXPERIENCE platform to optimise the performance and efficiency of complex marine and offshore projects. The platform will enable IRS to implement data-driven decision making, concept design, engineering, integrated operations, and maintenance processes. This will significantly improve its operations management, resulting in prolonged vessel life, enhanced cost and time efficiency, and heightened safety and security within the shipping industry.
With the aid of Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform, IRS can easily monitor and track crucial key performance indicators (KPIs) for the entire lifecycle of its assets, enabling qualitative surveys, inspections, and monitoring, as well as maintain compliance with International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations by monitoring emissions. Additionally, the platform will enable IRS to create a virtual twin to enhance vessel lifecycle management, offer digital services on a single, unified platform, and provide end-to-end digital traceability of requirements.
As Deepak NG, Managing Director India, Dassault Systèmes, has shared, the complex marine and offshore projects need new ways to leverage the advanced technologies that are defining a new era in shipbuilding and gaining an edge in the industry.. He also elaborated on how the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and the industry solution experiences like Program Excellence For Sea and Designed for Sea transform shipbuilding practices to support strategic objectives sustainably. The digital management of complex projects, collaboration across multisite ecosystems, efficient production planning, and virtually exploring alternative design scenarios all impact the delivery of high-quality vessels that meet – or better yet – exceed their customers’ expectations.
Arun Sharma, Executive Chairman, IRS, confirms that following a thorough analysis of marketplace solutions, IRS has selected Dassault Systèmes to execute its digital strategy and add value to its business. This association is expected to help IRS in achieving its business objectives, improve the quality of services, and drive sustainability initiatives. The international ship classification society is committed to providing the highest quality services to its customers and this collaboration will enable it to achieve that goal.
