Godavari Biorefineries
Limited (GBL) inaugurated its new MPO plant with a capacity of 4,000 tonnes per annum,at Sakarwadi, Maharashtra. The company already has manufacturing plants at Sameerwadi in Karnataka and Sakarwadi in Maharashtra.
While inaugurating the plant, Prakash Mehta, honourable minister of housing, labour & mines, guardian minister of Raigad district, Government of Maharashtra, said, “The development of this plant will contribute to the socio-economic development of the area. The commitment of the company for this region began with Karamshibhai Somaiya when he founded the company here. From the past 76 years, the company has worked for the development
of this area”.
Samir Somaiya, chairman and managing director, GBL, said, “The new unit will allow us to offer customised chemicals and solutions for the global markets. It is part of our strategy to meet the growing demand for chemicals manufactured from renewable feed stocks using sustainable
practices.” The company had recently raised private equity from Mandala Capital, a part of which was for the setting up of this plant.
