Flex has announced the opening of its new Global Business Services (GBS) centre in Coimbatore, marking its third GBS centre in India alongside its existing facilities in Chennai and Pune.
Balroop Grewal, Senior Vice President Operations at Flex, emphasised the significance of GBS as a critical component of the company’s operations with strong business continuity capabilities. The new GBS center in Coimbatore will work collaboratively with the other GBS centers to enhance Flex’s end-to-end processes, provide insights to the company’s numerous global sites, and support business leaders.
Ashutosh Arora, Vice President & General Manager at Flex GBS India, added that the company is delighted to expand Flex GBS’ presence in India, citing Coimbatore’s skilled workforce, government support, and strong infrastructure as key factors.
Flex’s GBS centres offer centralized services to support the company’s global operations in various fields, such as Global Procurement & Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering & Quality, Program Management, IT, HR, and other specialized verticals. Since its establishment in India in 2001, Flex has grown its GBS population to more than 5,000 employees, the largest GBS population globally. Flex also operates two manufacturing facilities in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, and two Global Services and Solutions facilities in Bangalore, Karnataka.
