Delhi Government’s revolutionary EV Policy earns State Leadership Award at IESA Awards 2023

Recognised and celebrated leaders and innovators in the energy storage industry in India.

The India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) recently held its Industry Excellence Awards 2023 to celebrate innovation and excellence in the energy storage industry. The Delhi Government won the State Leadership Awards- EV Policy for promoting sustainable transportation through its Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy. Shri Suresh Prabhu, former Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Railways Commerce & Industry, Chemicals and Fertilisers, Environment and Forest and Power, Govt of India, and a distinguished G20 and G7 member graced the event with his presence.

Suman Mishra from Mahindra Last Mile Mobility was named Women Leader of the Year, while Vikramadithya Gourineni from the Amara Raja Group was named Emerging Leader of the Year. The World Bank was awarded the Financial Institutions of the Year, and the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways and the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) won the IESA Industry Excellence Awards on Battery Safety. 

Additionally, the Governments of Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Odisha were honoured with State Leadership Awards for their contributions to the energy storage industry in India.

Dr. Rahul Walawalkar, President, India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA), expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to recognize the significant efforts of various policymakers and bureaucrats from various ministries, as well as acknowledge their achievements, during the awards ceremony. He congratulated the start-ups, world-class organisations, and energy leaders on their successful participation in the prestigious award program.

Ashok Thakur, Director, Strategic Initiatives, Customised Energy Solutions (CES), commented on the event, stating that the platform is all about celebrating the excellence of people who have put their efforts, their soul, and almost everything into making India’s clean energy transition a reality. He also added that India is at the cusp of the world’s biggest clean energy transition.
