Danfoss India kick-started a career intentionality program, ‘Puthri’, for underprivileged girl students at Govt. High School, Panrutti, in the presence of Anju Mary Kuruvilla, Director-Danfoss India, Eswar Balasubramanian, VP- AHCT, Thiru. Kandeeban, Headmaster- Panrutti High School, students, teachers, and Danfoss volunteers for the Puthri program.
The program’s objective is to develop select girl students to equip them with the necessary skills, career intentionality, grooming and other employability training requisite for self-sustainable careers. After the formal inauguration of the project, all the schoolteachers were felicitated for their great service in developing the future citizens of India.
Speaking on this occasion, Anju Mary Kuruvilla said, “Education & empowerment of girl students and enhancing the employability rate of women in the workforce is one of our Diversity & Inclusion goals. Our CSR and Community Engagement initiatives with the local community have contributed to developing areas near all Danfoss India office locations, especially the villages near our main Oragadam campus. We look forward to welcoming several of our Puthri scholars as Danfoss employees in the long run.”
Eswar Balasubramanian said, “Puthri has transformed the lives of around 10,000 girl students and will continue to upgrade the lives of underprivileged girls across our state. The success is mainly due to the support and encouragement of companies like Danfoss that truly uphold the vision and mission of our organization.”
Thiru. Kandeeban lauded the joint efforts of Danfoss India and ACHT and said that there is no dearth of talent amongst the students in the rural areas. Puthri platform will be an enabler for deserving talented girl students from humble backgrounds to realize their dreams, he added.
This program assists the girls in academics by offering special classes by specially trained scholars, career guidance by skilled mentors and scholarships for higher studies. In addition, the holistic development of the participants is planned by preparing them in leadership, interpersonal skills, stress management, effective communication, writing a formal resume, personality/grooming and acing interview skills.
Danfoss India has partnered with Project Puthri to run this program in select schools of Tamil Nadu, starting with Govt HS Panrutti. Danfoss employees will volunteer as scholars and mentors to guide the selected students.
