EVs are key to zero-carbon mobility

Périllat discussed Valeo’s commitment to sustainable mobility and innovative solutions for a greener future.

Valeo CEO Christophe Périllat delivered a speech at the Car Symposium 2023 in Bochum, Germany, emphasising the importance of decarbonisation and Valeo’s commitment to providing solutions for greener mobility. He stated that Valeo is a world leader in both powertrains and thermal systems and has equipped more than 90 car models with high-voltage powertrains. Moreover, Valeo is a leader in battery cooling technology and is developing breakthrough immersive cooling technology to enable ultra-fast charging and secure battery ageing.

Perillat informed that Valeo’s smart heat pump will be introduced in October 2023, working twice as efficiently as classic electric heaters, with 20 per cent less weight. Additionally, a new variant will further improve efficiency and avoid any P-FAS in the car. Valeo aims to mass-produce a rare earth-free motor with a power of 200kW and an 800V rating by 2027. Valeo ensures that each technology is designed with high durability, repairability, remanufacturing, and recycling in mind.
