Bombardier Transportation has opened an Information Services (IS) hub at Gurgaon. The new facility is now part of Bombardier Transportation’s expanding IS team, which supports the company in providing modern and effective workplaces and services to its employees.
As part of Bombardier Transportation’s global IS strategy, India will be the third hub after Canada and Germany, all working as one integrated team serving Bombardier Transportation locations across the world.
Thomas Leidenbach, VP, information services infrastructure, Bombardier Transportation said, “Our IS presence in India offers the required infrastructure and talent to support our development strategy, innovation and improve our services. This office will give us proximity to our IS supplier base, grow core competencies internally, and support our presence and growth in Asia.”
With this hub, Bombardier is looking to leverage the local expertise to bridge the gap between outsourcing and building internal competency. The new hub will create jobs in the area of IS applications and IS infrastructure management and the local India team will, as part of the globalised Bombardier Transportation IS department, support Bombardier workplaces to support customer requirements. After more than five decades in India, the company employs 1,600 people. It operates a
railway vehicle manufacturing site and bogie assembly hall near Gujarat. This is in addition to a propulsion systems manufacturing facility at Maneja, a Rail Control Solutions centre and newly opened IS hub near Gurgaon and an engineering
centre in Hyderabad.
