The U.S. Air Force has granted Boeing a $285 million contract for aircraft, sustainment, and support services for the MH-139A Grey Wolf helicopters. The company will start production on the first 13 units following this award. The aircraft can accomplish missions faster, more quietly, and more efficiently due to a 50% increase in speed and range and a 5,000-pound increase in max gross weight.
Boeing is the prime contractor for the MH-139A program, with Leonardo serving as the original equipment manufacturer. By utilizing a proven AW-139 platform and integrating extra military capabilities into the MH-139A, the Boeing-Leonardo team delivers the most competent product for the mission, providing the U.S. Air Force with an increased level of missile security for decades to come.
