Altair announced the launch of the 2014 versions of solidthinking Inspire & Evolve, through its five city seminar series – themed “Weight is Over”- design faster, better and lighter. The seminars attracted 800 plus design engineers, managers and industrial designers from over 300 plus organisations across five cities. At the one day seminars, experts from Altair global development and technical team, Tony Gray, director, solidThinking, APAC and Antonio Flores, European industrial design, solidThinking, presented this technology and related case-studies from customers. The presentations provided a great platform for participants to discuss how solidThinking Inspire enhances the concept development process and application of new age AM manufacturing methods are influencing concept design, product design and development across multiple industries. On industries using this software, Gray said, “There are no limitations to using Inspire. It can be used across sectors be it automotive, aerospace, marine, architecture, electronics, automotive, aerospace, 3D printing, etc.”
Altair India also announced the launch of the “Begin Here!” – solidThinking 2015 India Concept Design Challenge”, targeted at working design engineers from India. Elaborating, Rajneesh Shinde, senior director, Marketing, Channels & New Initiatives, Altair averred, “We got very encouraging response from this initiative and the engineers seem genuinely excited to be presented with this opportunity where they use and run the tool to show their creativity.”
