Alstom India funds 10 start-ups in clean energy and mobility

These start-ups have been awarded Rs 1.5 crores for their work in clean energy, shared mobility, and multi-modal solutions.

Alstom India has awarded a grant of Rs 1.5 crores to 10 start-ups that developed solutions in the areas of clean energy, shared mobility and multi-modal solutions as a part of its Sustainability Incubation Program. The start-ups were selected from over 200 applications by an expert jury, including innovation leaders from Alstom. 

Here’s a brief summary of the mentioned start-ups:

  • MetroRide – An electric mobility platform providing last mile connectivity to public transport hubs.
  • Evoride Motors – A company creating intelligent and environmentally friendly electric two-wheeler mobility solutions.
  • Volar Alta – A drone-based industrial inspection service provider for confined spaces.
  • Epick Bikes – An electric bicycle brand offering reliable, upgradable, and high-quality products for micro-mobility needs.
  • ChargeEZ – An EV park and charge platform building the largest destination charging network in India.
  • The Energy Company – A deep-tech start-up providing faster, cheaper, and reliable batteries for electric vehicles.
  • Green Tiger Mobility – A company with patented dual powertrain technology for 2Ws, reducing CO2 emissions and enhancing the vehicle’s life.
  • TrackNerd GPS – An IoT-enabled fleet management telematics start-up that bridges the information gap between fleets and their owners.
  • Tadpole Projects – A company providing affordable clean energy conveyance solutions with a focus on waste management and power efficiency.
  • Swytchd – An all-inclusive electric vehicle subscription service offering insurance, servicing, breakdown assistance, and free public network charging.

The program, accelerated by NSRCEL-IIMB, will provide capacity and capability building, exposure to complementary partnerships, and funding to the selected startups to help sharpen their business and technology roadmaps.

Olivier Loison, Managing Director, Alstom India, stated that Alstom’s contribution to sustainability is closely tied to their business, making it critical for them to take the lead in building and supporting the ecosystem they operate in. He further mentioned that while bringing their vision of sustainable mobility to life through their business, they have also committed to making active social investments to nurture startups who share their vision. Loison expressed delight in partnering with NSRCEL-IIMB and commended their body of work in innovation, technology and sustainable mobility. He also acknowledged the selected startups’ incredible work and progress.

Commenting on the milestone, Anand Sri Ganesh, COO, NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore, said that the climate and sustainability spaces are still emerging and that knowledge networks, business models, funding, and policy environment are all still weakly defined. At NSRCEL, they are committed to injecting innovation to solve these priorities at scale, through the lens of entrepreneurship. He also stated that Alstom’s commitment to the sector and supporting entrepreneurial innovation is an inspiration for other leading corporates to join the cause.
