Three companies have submitted bids for manufacturing 44 rakes of Vande Bharat train sets. The three companies are – BHEL, Medha Servo Drives and CRRC-Pioneer Electric India.
The railways will start the evaluation of technical bids for the contract worth around Rs 1,800 crore. This is an indigenous tender with a stipulation of minimum local content of 75 per cent.
BHEL is a government PSU and Medha is an India firm, while CRRC-Pioneer Electric India is a joint venture between Beijing based CRRC Yongji Electric and India’s Pioneer Fil-Med, which has its plant in Haryana.
