Odisha govt approves seven investment proposals worth Rs 3,205 cr

The government of Odisha has approved seven investment proposals worth Rs 3,205.67 crore which are likely to generate employment for 2,494 people in the state.

The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) approved seven planned projects.

The proposal of MGM Minerals for expansion of its project by setting up 0.125 million tpa sponge iron plant, 0.6 million tpa pellet plant, 0.25 million tpa ms billets, 0.25 million tpa TMT & wire rods and 40 MW captive power plant at Nimdha in Dhenkanal, with an investment of Rs 801.89 crore, will provide employment to about 1,215 people.

Another proposal of GM Iron & Steel Company for expansion of its project, by setting up 0.8 million tpa pellet plant, 0.2379 million tpa DRI plant, 0.195 million tpa billet, 0.24 million tpa wire rod mill, 0.416 million tpa slag cement and 46 MW captive power plant in Dhenkanal, will have investment of Rs 607.52 crore and employment opportunities for 592 people.

In addition, a proposal of Envirocare Infrasolution for setting up iron ore beneficiation plant of 3.6 million tpa capacity at Koira in Sundergarh, with a total investment of Rs 60 crore, will employ around additional 175 people.

The proposal of Hindalco Industries for setting up Flue Gas Desulphurization Plant (FGD) for its existing CPP (six x 150 MW) at Lapanga, Sambalpur, will have investment of Rs 696 crore.

Likewise, a proposal of Lifeline Multi-ventures to set up a 5-star hotel in Bhubaneswar will have total investment of Rs 150.38 crore and employment opportunities for 240 people.

SLSWCA also approved a proposal of JSW Cement for expansion of cement grinding capacity from 1.2 million tpa to 2.4 million tpa at Kalinga Nagar, Duburi, Jajpur, with an investment of Rs 489.88 crore and employment opportunities for 68 people.

In addition a proposal of Jajpur Cements for expansion of cement grinding capacity from 0.5 million tpa to 1.5 million tp at Kalinga Nagara, Jajpur, with an investment Rs 400 crore will provide additional employment opportunities for 154 people.
