Working from home
The novel corona virus has disrupted the global manufacturing industry including the Indian industry. Giving priority to the employees’ safety, several companies have taken various steps in the country. ACG, a leading pharma supplier has mandated that wherever business functions allow, employees around the world should now work from home. The company is encouraging its staff to make use of all available IT solutions, and has committed to covering the associated expenses of working remotely. Also, it has imposed a company-wide ban on travel has been imposed, and participation at events and exhibitions suspended.
In the statement, Sunil Jha, Group CHRO of ACG, said, “We are doing everything we possibly can to safeguard the health of our associates and communities, while also ensuring our ability to honour commitments made to pharmaceutical customers in terms of meeting their increased requirements. These are unprecedented times calling for unprecedented measures, and we promise to stand strong alongside all healthcare providers fighting on the front lines of this pandemic.”
Travel restrictions
Continental has imposed travel restrictions and taking following measures.
● Continental has issued travel restrictions from and to China, South Korea, Italy and Iran.
● Travel that is absolutely necessary for business purposes is permissible only in isolated cases and when it has been specifically approved.
● The company is requesting that our employees reconsider the necessity of business trips to other countries.
● The company requesting that all employees who were in countries with a particularly high number of cases within the last 14 days work from home for two weeks after they return
● The company is also offering our expat employees the option to return to their home countries temporarily. Employees who prefer to stay in the respective countries because they do not want to put themselves at risk may of course do so.
Going virtual
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has taken preventive measures to safe guard health and safety of all stakeholders including: Customers, Employees, and Dealer Partners. TKM has been closely monitoring the evolving situation and responding appropriately in accordance with guidance issued by the Government.
Keeping safety of the customers in mind, the company is developing a 360 degree vehicle display on its website, helping them take a virtual tour of each vehicle and get a better understanding to make an informed purchase decision.

Dr Chandra Sekhar Nettem, Chief Operating Officer, Sentini FloPipes – Sentini Group, a Hyderabad headquartered multi-diverse conglomerate said, “Regarding Corona Virus, so far the impact of on the supply chain has been cancellation of face to face meetings as well as non-disbursal of some key materials required for few specialised applications. Due to this no key decisions on few future working and requirements have been made so far. The impact of lack of materials could be severe in the coming months, if this continues. Few ways we try to mitigate the effect are through video conferencing for all meetings and trying to identify and use local resources, albeit at higher prices or lower quality.”
