A new version of a technical data handbook which has become something of a global best seller in its sector over the years has just been published by Sheffield-based Dormer Tools, the only cutting tool manufacturer to offer a publication of this type. The 200-page pocket-sized hardcopy format of the book is a part of the company’s long-term investment in technical support, education and training. The publication follows the launch of a downloadable app version of the technical handbook, which is now available from the iTunes store and Google Play. The handbook is split into several sections, each detailing information suitable for use by the professional engineer or technician. Sections have been arranged according to machining process (drilling, milling, threading) and there is also a chapter on regrinding. A trouble-shooting table at the end of each section looks at the causes of common machining problems and offers possible solutions.
