HSIL, a sanitaryware manufacturer, has announced an investment to the tune of Rs 320 crore in two manufacturing facilities in Telangana.
The company has announced an investment of Rs 220 crore in AGI Glaspac to manufacture specialty glass at a greenfield facility in Bhongir.
The Glaspac facility will have a manufacturing capacity of 150 tpd and include one new furnace with five manufacturing lines spread across 15 acre. The unit will also focus on exports to US, Australia, and a few European countries.
The specialty glass products will cater to industries such as pharmaceuticals, including vials, perfumery, cosmetics and high-end liquor.
AGI Glaspac has two manufacturing plants in the country, one in Sanathnagar and the other in Bhongir, with an overall capacity of 1,600 tpd container glass.
HSIL is foraying into the production of specialty glass, as it will further strengthen the company’s footprint in the glass packaging segment.
Another investment worth Rs 100 crore will be made in the company’s plastic pipes and fittings solution business at the Sangareddy plant. The investment is being made to increase the production capacity.
The company targets to augment the production of its Sangareddy unit from the current 30,000 tonne to 48,000 tonne by September 2022.
The Glaspac unit and pipes plant will be operational by the end of September 2022.Â
The company has an agreement with Japanese conglomerate Sekisui Chemical Co for supply of NSF-certified CPVC compound, Durastream, to provide piping solutions to cater to varied markets.
