South Korean carmaker Hyundai Motors India (HMIL) launched a new generation of its compact hatchback Grand i10 names as “Grand i10 Nios”. The compact hatchback which will compete against Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ford Figo and Tata Tiago is priced between Rs. 499,990 – Rs 799,450 (ex-showroom, Pan India)
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will be available alongside Grand i10 and with this, the carmaker will have four hatchbacks including Santro and Elite i20. To come in 10 variants, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will be available in both petrol and diesel fuel options.
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will be powered by the same 1.2-litre Kappa petrol and 1.2-litre CRDI diesel engine carried from sibling Grand i10. The 1.2-litre Kappa petrol will churn out 83 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and 113.75 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Petrol model will be available in seven different trims.
While the 1.2-litre CRDI diesel engine will churn out 75 Ps of power at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm of torque at 1,750-2,250 rpm. Both engines will be mated by a 5-speed manual and Automated Manual Transmission (AMT).
In terms of features, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will come along with a touchscreen infotainment system supported by Apple Carplay and Andriod Auto.
