Honda has unveiled its ‘2030 Vision’ that reveals the future path for the Japanese auto major. The company has revealed that it will heavily emphasise on the development of technologies for mobility products, energy and robotics under this plan.
The company has announced that it will focus on electrified mobility products to achieve a zero carbon society. One can expect a wide range of fully electric, hybrid and other environment-friendly power-driven vehicles from the company in future under its ‘2030 Vision’.
Honda has around 32 million total number of customers across the world and the company aims to fully leverage that by creating new value technologies across all sectors.
The company says it will expand the application of i-MMD twin-motor hybrid system from small, large to mid-sized vehicles as well as PHEVs as part of the brand’s core electrification technology. Also, it aims to upgrade the performance of the PHEV, BEV and FCVs by applying high-voltage system technologies, as announced by the brand.
Honda also claims its BEV architecture will enable the brand to share the basic framework of the vehicles. This will enable to develop flexible product development, including body design, adoption of battery types to accommodate the desired EV range.
Another key part of Honda’s ‘2030 Vision’ is developing collision-free technologies that will ramp up the safety of the Honda cars. Under its strategy for ‘safety for everyone,’ the automaker will introduce Honda Sensing Suite that includes a bunch of safety and driver assistive technologies.
Honda is also aiming to increase the application of connected car technologies to its mobility products through the eMaaS system that is claimed to be offering seamless connectivity through its products.
Besides that, to respond to the rapid changes in the business environment, Honda has planned to focus more on R&D operations.
