Nuberg is focusing on making fuel cell systems & Bio-ethanol as cost-competitive solutions. Could you throw some light on this initiative?
Fuel cell ensures higher efficiency than conventional technologies and easily converts chemical energy into fuel. The fuel cell has lower emissions because hydrogen fuel cells are based on water. This will support PM Narendra Modi’s vision of Net-zero carbon emission by 2070 and it can be called environment friendly as fuel cells have no noise during operations.
Nuberg is rigorously working on research and development in their special laboratories so that producing low-cost fuel cells can be made possible. Nuberg is also aiming for high-volume manufacturing points to reduce the overall cost. We are collaborating with various industry partners to remove any barriers quickly.
Bioethanol is also recognized as one of the alternatives to fossil fuels so that greenhouse gas can be reduced. It has huge potential in the future as it reduces tailpipe emissions. Various clients have shown interest in bio-ethanol plant setups. Nuberg is executing Hydrogen Fuel Dispensing Plant for Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) in Gujarat. We are also building the plant for the Conversion of Biomass Fuel to Ethanol for the same company at the Panipat refinery. Hydrogen Fuel cells and bio-ethanol are two fuels capable of giving a competitive advantage over combustion-based technologies that are conventionally used. Working on these will help Indian Economy to reduce oil import dependency.
How is Nuberg EPC set to be a major EPC player in India’s Hydrogen economy?
Nuberg EPC is one of the companies worldwide that is working on decarbonisation, thus focusing more on Greener Energy. Through this, we can concentrate more on offering sustainable solutions to our clients. In the coming years, we will be the key player in manufacturing and selling electrolyzers which are used in the production process of Green Hydrogen. Nuberg EPC wants to be on the front line in contributing to “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” and with this goal, we will help India’s economy by making green hydrogen a cost-effective fuel. The new policy on green hydrogen will also encourage EPC companies like us to bring state-of-the-art technologies into the segment and help the country to become a global hub. As per our research, the demand for hydrogen will be around 12 MMT by 2030, and out of this, approximately 45 per cent will be produced in India.
What are the expansion plans in India and across the globe?
Round the year, we work on the various dimensions to ensure we set benchmarks in the EPC sector. We are currently focusing on the chemical and fertilizer industry. We have been executing the NPK plant for The Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) in Kochi, Kerala. Recently we won a 250 TPD Chlor-Alkali Plant project from Chemfab Alkalis Limited. We are working on the latest technologies and collaborating with world-class technology providers to acquire the oil and gas market. In the Hydrocarbon section, we have got a prestigious project of the Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) plant from Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) in Gujarat, India. The world economy is facing turbulence, but we can see that the Indian economy is still robust. This growth will continue as industries like Nuberg EPC are constantly making their presence in the global market.
Disruptive technologies and digital platforms are revolutionizing the industry. How have you leveraged the advent of technology?
The EPC sector is considered one of the oldest sectors, but as we have, the industry has struggled to implement new technologies. But Nuberg EPC has always been on the front to ensure we incorporate new concepts through advanced technologies. We have the latest design software like HTRI, HYSYS and AutoCAD so that the project can be supported from the conceptual level to detailed engineering, fabrication, construction, and commissioning plans. Our R&D facility in Sweden focuses on developing innovative and cost-effective technology for chemical process plants. We are also working on VR technology which will helps in providing a holistic view to the clients we are working with.
