Bharat Fritz Werner and Manufacturing Today celebrated Manufacturing Day 2016 with a day-long conference in Pune.
Bharat Fritz Werner (BFW) partnered with Manufacturing Today to present Manufacturing Day 2016, a conference to celebrate manufacturing, in Pune, on 19th October, 2016. This one-of-its-kind event saw participation from some of India’s top manufacturing companies, including Cummins, Dana, Eaton, Essar, Exide, ExxonMobil, Godrej & Boyce, Mahindra, Whirlpool, etc.
Ravi Raghavan MD, BFW, welcomed the guests present, following which, the Chief Guest, Shishir Joshipura, MD, SKF, delivered a special address on Make in India and how to get the best out of it. Highlighting the Opportunities in Indian Manufacturing, Kamal Bali, MD, Volvo India, spoke about the automotive industry, while Kishore Jayaraman, president, Rolls Royce India & South Asia, covered the aerospace industry.
There were panel discussions on varied subjects pertinent to the manufacturing sector, including Factories of Future: Productive Shop Floor; Innovation-led Manufacturing Practices; and Talent & Skill Development for Manufacturing.
The event also gave a unique chance to engineering college students from R V College of Engineering, Bengaluru, to present their ideas as part of the Ashwa Racing Team. Shailesh Sheth, corporate strategy adviser, enthralled the audience with a stellar presentation on Future Manufacturing – Technology & People, bringing the entire conference to a fine finish. Ravi Raghavan rounded up the event by giving the vote of thanks, with a promise to make this an annual affair as a tribute to the manufacturing sector.
