CII EXCON to advance India’s march towards becoming 2nd largest CE market in the world

South Asia’s largest construction equipment show CII EXCON scheduled for 17-21 May ’22 at Bengaluru

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organised a road show in Bengaluru to announce CII EXCON which witnessed the participation of senior officials from the Government along with industry leaders and stakeholders from the infrastructure and construction equipment sector.

EXCON 2021, South Asia’s largest construction equipment and construction technology trade fair, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is scheduled to be held from 17 – 21 May 2022 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bengaluru.

 EXCON 2021 will spread over 3,00,000 square meters of display area and is expected to attract over 1000 exhibitors from India and abroad including countries like USA, UK, France, Germany, Italy, UAE, South Korea, Singapore and Sri Lanka. The 5-day exhibition would attract over 40,000 business visitors from all over the world.

While addressing the road show, V G Sakthi Kumar, Member, EXCON Steering Committee & Managing Director, Schwing Stetter (India) Pvt Ltd said, “This is the eleventh edition of the EXCON and our theme this year is on “Building India for a New World: Competitiveness, Growth, Sustainability, Technology.  EXCON will exemplify the role of smart technologies and innovation in India’s infrastructure development to achieve the vision of making India the global hub for Construction Equipment Manufacturing by 2030.

 Indian CE industry, being the 3rd largest market in the world, currently holds a prominent position in the global CE landscape. Government of India’s ambitious Rs 111 lakh crore National Infrastructure Pipeline would augur well for the Indian construction equipment industry to become the 2nd largest CE market in the world, with a size of USD 25 billion by 2030, said Sakthi Kumar.

EXCON endeavours to build India’s infrastructure in an ecologically sustainable manner, enabling projects on Smart Cities, supporting Swachh Bharat programs, promoting skill development and positioning “Make in India” – as the National Agenda for achieving holistic growth in the infrastructure and related sectors.  

Some of the highlights of EXCON include exclusive focus on Alternate Fuels, Ai Pavilion, Finance Plaza, Skills, Women operating construction equipment and machinery, Equal opportunity awards for women, MSMEs, Digital Transformation besides sustainability and safety among others.

Deepak Garg, Member, EXCON Steering Committee & Managing Director, Sany Heavy Industry India Pvt Ltd said, “Encouraging the adoption of world-class technologies for speedy implementation of infrastructure projects is the current need of the State.  EXCON with the presence of world-class players in the construction equipment sector, will not only deliver the best in class technologies along with cost-effective solutions, but will also bring more awareness amongst all stakeholders on the latest developments in CE Industry.”

“The allocation of Rs 20,000 crore in the Union Budget for PM Gati Shakti – multi-modal connectivity for the States with  focus on  roads, railways, airports, ports and waterways besides expansion of 25,000 kms of National Highway Network in 2022-23 would give tremendous push for infrastructure development in the country”, said Deepak Garg.

 Excon addresses both marketing and educational platform for all stakeholders. Government and Senior Bureaucrats capitalised it as a knowledge platform for various departments (PWD’s and Civil Engineering Departments), private contractors, builders, road or infrastructure developers, smart city/ urban planning and Army Border Roads Organisation among others. Stakeholders get a platform to witness the latest Technology, Equipment’s and Machinery display which will enable accelerated infrastructure development needs of the nation.

 Leading construction equipment manufacturers at the exhibition would demonstrate the versatility of machines, sophistication in construction technologies and more importantly showcase the cost effective solutions for builders and contractors for speedy implementation of projects with focus on quality, safety and environmental sustainability.

 At the Exhibition, all Covid related protocols and safety measures will be put in place for the benefit of all participants and visitors to the exhibition.
